Kancamagus Highway

The pristine Kancamagus Highway has many things to offer for all types of people. From families, avid hikers, to tourists there is something for everyone to learn and discover on the Kancamagus Highway. The Kancamagus is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year, from the amazing color it offers during foliage season to the cool water that allows you to escape the summer heat. Bear Notch Rd. is open but check with the Forest Service link on the Local Links page. The Kancamagus Highway is located in Northern New Hampshire and stretches 34 miles long from Lincoln to Conway. There is no gas for this length of road, so gas up before you leave either end. This site is not affiliated with the White Mountain National Forest.


Brake For Moose Warning!

It could save your life. There are hundreds of collisions every year. Moose are dark and their eyes do not reflect light; unlike deer and other nocturnal creatures. Be very cautious at dawn and dusk, moose are more active at this time. When you see a moose: slow down and proceed with caution !!

2023 has proven to be very wet year. Several roads were washed out within New Hampshire. The rain effects the leaf color as well as stripping them from the trees.
