Pemigewasset Overlook:

Looking at this forest, it may be hard to believe that the Pemigewasset Wilderness was heavily logged only a century ago. Many of the hiking trails in the Pemigewasset follow the paths of old railroad beds and logging roads. Today the Forest Service continues to manage this Wilderness area helping the forest return to nearly natural conditions. This site is not affiliated with the White Mountain National Forest.
